Every professional sports season lasts seven months, and the second week of September, the national hockey league starts off. October 8th was the opening night for the first 6 teams. The headlines surrounding opening week was the beginning of the Florida Panthers’ journey to a consecutive NHL title.
The first six teams who were playing were Seattle Kraken, St. Louis Blues, Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Utah Hockey Club. Oct. 8 was also a memorable day since it will be the debut of Utah Hockey Club. The team, previously known as the Arizona Coyotes, moved to Salt Lake City.

They’re star player, Jack Eichel, is 27 years old and is they’re youngest captain. He outdid himself Wednesday October 5th on the first game. Having four assists for eight goals. By each year he proves himself more and more why he is deserving of the C on his jersey
Opening week for the NHL is always a thrilling time for fans and also players. From stunning goals to unexpected upsets, the first week sets the tone for what’s to come in the upcoming season.
