On Sept. 20 the iPhone 16 and IOS 18 were released. People around the world rushed to get this phone and this update. Despite this, I think the whole idea is worthless and a big waste of time.
The major changes added to the iPhone 16 were all the new color changes (Black, Teal, Pink, Ultramarine, White, Black Titanium, White Titanium, Neutral Titanium, and Desert Titanium), the cameras changed positions, and there’s now a new side button to the phone.
The side button has three functions: it turns off the iPhone, locks the iPhone, and enables access to the camera app without swiping.
The entire update seems like a waste of money and makes no sense. It feels like the company is just changing random things at this point to make a new phone and to get buyers to spend their money on a new item that’s not worth it. For example, from touch ID to Face ID, Apple has always prioritized security. The iPhone 16 builds on these features with “enhanced biometric security”, but the foundational commitment to protecting all of user data remains unchanged.
It’s the most worthless phone in the market right now and I don’t think anybody should spend their money on the phone. All the new features that got “updated” are features that were already in previous phones. The “enhanced camera system” they say got upgraded, honestly doesn’t have much of a difference then from the previous phone. Apple also stated that the new phone has longer battery life which is absolutely not true, it’s been tested with the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 15 that with the same amount of use, both phones run out of battery at the same time. The whole idea of the phone just makes no sense and I don’t understand the update at all.
While some people like me argue that the new phone isn’t the best purchase. There has to be credit given where credit is due. The phone does have a new Bionic Chip that enhances the camera system with a smoother display. The phone is also made with an increased use of recycled materials which give the phone a better status in other people’s eyes.
However, the IOS 18 update also doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I think it makes the whole concept of the iPhone way too complicated. I also don’t believe the company is taking into mind the idea of new users. New users expect the normal iPhone that has been out for years. Now with this new phone and new update it’s way too confusing for people.
The highlights of this phone are all the shortcomings of the Iphone 16, emphasizing the lack of innovation and high price point may lower the income of people who will want to buy it. Ultimately, the phone falls short of all expectations, starting concerns and competitiveness in the market and company.
