New cracks are formed as you take your first look inside of me
There’s so much depth to me that you don’t yet know of
I lay still and silent as your eyes roam across every detail of me
Your attention is glued onto me, you can’t look away
The more my spine cracks, the less likely you’ll leave me alone
I was created with love and gratitude
I was dedicated to a family
But you look past that to learn what secrets I hold inside
The dedication I was introduced to you with slips your mind
You don’t care about it, it’s straight to the who what when where why?
After two whole weeks of you slowly wearing me down, you walk away
I go with all the other books on the shelf, whose spines you’ve broken.
