Maddie Hutchison (@m3hollywood), a high school senior with more than 2,000 Instagram followers, is already exploring brand collaborations, leveraging her influence for potential opportunities such as ContemptDept (@) Trevante Revelation (@), and more.
“One of my most memorable brands was Devine Garmnts, where I met Kobe Jones, (@kobejoness5) and ever since he’s been putting me on, teaching me, guiding me,” Maddie said.
Maddie credits most of her growth to Kobe, A Fashion influencer who has been crucial when it comes to consistency, sharing valuable tips and tricks to help her stay on track.
“She doesn’t ride any waves,” Kobe said. “She dresses authentically. She doesn’t copy anyone, she dresses how she wants to, listens to her own music, and supports original brands.”
While Kobe’s influence has helped Maddie elevate her style, she still feels there’s room for improvement.
“Honestly, I wouldn’t say that I’m that different. Even though I wear all this stuff, I feel like I can do better with myself,” Maddie said.
Despite the influence she holds, Maddie’s journey hasn’t always been the easiest.
“Before, I used to worry all the time,” Maddie said.. “I’d think, ‘oh, people are going to make fun of me if I wear this or I do that.’ But now, as you can see, I’ve let that go. I have pink hair, I wear poofy hats, lots of jewelry– I wear whatever I want. It just makes me more comfortable with myself.”
“I realized that I was beautiful,” Maddie said, reflecting on her journey. She hopes that her story can inspire others to find their craft, even when people doubt you.
“Sometimes, people make me feel like I should give up,” Maddie said. “But I keep going because of people like you- those who uplift me and motivate me. Even though some may not believe in me. I don’t let that stop me.”
Maddie’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges, which she heavily reflected on. “It’s been hard, but now that my struggles are my ashes, it’s beautiful.”
Through perseverance, she has transformed, emerging stronger every time.
“They’re watching,” Maddie said, “but you have to make them stay.”
